Whistleblower edition 35332 Posted on 1 Feb 17:56
As we reported last month, your Committee decided, if practical, operations will cease at
KMR and the move to CMR will be by August 2015.
With the traditional period of new year resolutions now in full swing, Whistleblower is
starting a campaign to increase your commitment to the Society in some way, no matter
how small.
There is a hardy group of members, hereinafter called the Wednesday Group, who turn out
each Wednesday at CMR to progress the objectives as detailed in the track plans for the
new railway.
With a formidable array of skills and exemplary enthusiasm they are cutting, digging,
building, planting, painting, mowing, cementing and welding an idea into a fully
operational miniature railway.
For those members who find it difficult to attend on Wednesdays - Don't despair!
Whistleblower is searching for ideas and comments on all other aspects of a miniature
railway. All we need this month is to let your imagination run wild.
From the comfort of your favourite chair, overlooking the beach, from the top of a hill or
from the most useful seat in the house GET THINKING!
Then get your ideas, comments, thoughts into an email or letter and send it to the
Whistleblower.
What do we need to do to explode onto the Canberra scene as an entertainment venue? Do
we need a new logo? How should be advertise? What should the opening ceremony be
like? How do we name parts of the track? What will the signs look like? What can we do to
make visitor experiences memorable? Do we need to provide more member facilities?
Have you seen other initiatives on your travels we could consider? Should the Committee
be looking at new aspects of the railway not yet considered?
These are just a few of the questions you might like to comment on. It is not an exhaustive
list and YOUR ideas are important NOW.
Whistleblower will publish all ideas, (you can be credited or reply anonymously) but we need
to get on to it NOW for the ideas to be published in the February issue. So don’t delay -
start musing!!
